Don,

Didn't know we could reserve sites within the reserved area. Called down there and got pull through 156. You'll get to wake up looking at the ole Clipper.

Hey guys.

Hoping to attend the rally despite being Triumph mounted.
Purely an economic measure as we are planning to undertake a 15,000 mile around North America tour after the rally.
Would rather ride than mechanic - if you know what I mean.

Anyway - happy to observe any requirements that the host club might ask us to observe.
We will be 12 bikers from New Zealand, and some of the female riders really cannot handle kickstarts....

We all belong to the Canterbury BSAOC, and hosted the 2010 BSA International. Met a lot of folks who we would love to stay in touch with.
BSA owners are a special breed to be sure - we embrace this.
Hope to meet as many of you guys as possible.
Cheers mates,
Kilroy

Kilroy, you should definitely make your case to the club, the rally website doesn't exactly describe an "open arms" policy toward other brands. If they balk at letting other brands onto the campground (that was certainly the case at brimfield) im sure we can figure something out for you.

Alex do you think the BSA only will apply to the entire KOA Campground or just the Rally Tent Camp area?

Kilroy, I've got room for a few more at my site and you're more than welcome there.

Kilroy,
How many of the 12 of you are will be BSA mounted? Maybe contact the NC club and explain the situation. I would think, coming from NZ and with the major trip you have planned, they would embrace your participation.

Better than 100 yards, but depends on the launching crew (3). I have you in my sights.

Hey No Name,

I'm planning on making this. There are many things that could get in the way but nothing dared, nothing gained.

Hey guys...Northern California...what's the weather like this time of year?

Usually pretty darned GREAT!

... Except in 'frisco.

May along Coast Hywy 1 might get fogged in and chilly, damp, maybe slippery? But north above lousy 'frisco will afford you simply MARVELOUS scenery!

Wish I could go... Still workin' in May...

Petaluma, which is rally 'ground zero', is upper 70's and mid 50's at night. Bodega Bay at the coast 20 miles west of 'ground zero' is mid 70's and mid 50's at night. But all that is right now, early July. Cooler in early May when the rally is. In the summer fog is not an issue at the coast unless the weather gets in the 90's in the interior valleys of the state, then it sucks the fog in at the coast. But the wind comes up in the afternoon at the coast and clears the fog. Inland, the humidity is low, so hot temperatures are felt nothing like the southeastern US. For me, it is an equivalent of about a 10 degree difference.

Hey all.
Sorry for the late response.
We have been honing the plan, but still meeting a fairly negative response as far as attending the rally on 'other' makes.
Ride America
We have been sounding out the possibility of renting or buying BSA's for the rally - but it looks pretty expensive just for one week.
At the end of the day, we will manage to be there in some form or other, and look forward to making your acquaintance.

Ok, over the biggest hurdle, looks like I'll be there!

Since flying in is one of my better options, are there any locals/members of the host club that might be interested in supplying a BSA for the rally?
