You did buy it right?

Tell me you bought it...500 or 650?

Wow Billy! Are you aware those are Firebird Scrambler header pipes? Lotta value right there. The tank, if it's fiberglass, is a mixed blessing. Most everyone is having trouble these days with the gasohol eating the fiberglass. They're making steel replicas of those tanks, though.

I won't ask what you paid for it, but if it wasn't a lot, you stole it!

They are Hornet pipes with mufflers on the end.

An observation from your picture. Billy (AND EVERYONE ELSE), I would like to recommend two tie down straps at the back, for a total of 4 straps when transporting bikes on trailers.

For ever, I only used 2 up front. Then the the big one happened a few years ago; one up front strap let go while on the interstate coming back from a weekend camp out ride. Naturally the machine didn't just layover to the right to the inside against the other bike, it layed over to the left and to the outside and off the trailer it went. I watched it happen in my left side mirror. Tried to get slowed down before it went, but no joy. Got down to about 40 MPH. There I was, watching in the side mirror, as the Firebird Scrambler did end over ends and slide down the interstate. Fortunately the straps wrapped around the bike and generally kept it alongside the trailer, so it didn't get run over by a passing big rig. Can you imagine what would have happened if a big rig or other vehicle would have ran over it? Two straps at the back, or even just one strap at the back, would have saved the day.

I got off lucky. Do you all feel lucky?

Nice looking bike Billy; I like the high Hornet pipes.

Right, Hornet. Maybe the tank too? And the fork shrouds, with aftermarket headlamp. Hmm, aftermarket taillight too. Billy, are you sure this is an "L"? That is, have you looked at the stamping on the engine? Not that it matters a whole lot, unless it has the original Hornet ET ignition and you have to mess with it.

I too now use 4 straps, even in the enclosed trailer. With 3 machines in there, it is a mass of straps going every which way.

Yes, the bike looks to have several changes made but it does look to have a Hornet rear fender.
