I have the Rupert Ratio mod in my b44. It has 10 plates, 5 steel and 5 friction with a friction plate as the first one in the bottom of the basket. I have 12 plates in my B50. I have a writeup on the procedure if you wish. Both upgrades significantly increase the capacity of the clutches without having to resort to heavier springs or tightening down the stock ones. If you have to tighten down your springs to prevent slipping on hard pulls in third gear, you need to do it. The modifications cured my woes. I also recommend those Surflex friction plates over others.

Maybe you could check out the thread "A65 clutch slip cure",and do a similar thing.
Glue one friction lining directly to the basket, and use one extra steel plate.

i've got ten friction and ten steel and the last one to fill up the basket is a friction plate with only cork on the inner side.
