I fear I am on the verge of jumping in to a very deep pool when I can't swim. One of our very own, from this very list, is tempting me to trade for a Panther 120, wait for it......IN BOXES!

I freely admit that I have very few functioning brain cells, which I have proved repeatedly in the past, but this could be a dumb move even for me! eek

On the bright side, the trade appears to be reasonable, and the previous owner of the basket case seems to have done some very nice work before he either died or abandoned ship on the project. Not sure which.

My key question is simple....where does one find parts for these wonderful machines?

I have lusted after a Panther for many years, and I plan to go through with this, but would someone please hold my hand and assure me that I can at least find gaskets for the project?

Thanks! Wish me luck!!! grin

Good Luck!

Once you get hooked up with the Panther club, and participate with them, and find out who's who and who knows what, I'm sure you'll find that everything's available ... they made those bikes for many a year, right up into the 60's, so it's not like looking for parts for a rare pre-war Terrot or something ....

If it starts to go together, keep us up to date on it!

I can get you in touch with Panther people in NZ if you are not successful in the US and UK.

Then you can take it for a bit of a ride. Look down the page.

Can't help you there Jim. I blew a few brain cells today by purchasing a Zundapp.
Never seen one, never lusted after one but I couldn't pass on it.
1956 KS 601 EL. Put away in 1965, intake and exhausts capped off and oiled.
Frame and sheetmetal powdercoated in 1994.Black. Complete. Got a key and everything. Craigslist. $700

I know it's not British but I had to share...
Even has sidecar lugs. Should be easier to fit the ACAP to than the A10 GSS.

Got to make some room to store it inside... laughing

Don in Nipomo.. good luck to all of us! :bigt

Don : how can you sleep at night ?? What a deal ! I was looking at a KS 601 here in Phoenix a few years ago in fairly orignal shape at about 8X the money.

OP : Back in the late 70s I imported a 120 with a Busmar double adult left side mount chair from England. In pretty rough shape but would run. Had to RB the bottom end and ended up using a slighly modified Toyota 8 or 18RC piston in it. Had a lot of fun running that around seeing all to wierd looks. LOL

The parts are out there, just keep your eyes peeled on L'ebayUK and, as Lannis suggested, get acquainted with the POC. Also check out the Panther group on YAHOO. Lots of good folks and good information to be had there.
If you decide to get it, good luck!
J.
