I just bought a BSA Fleetstar in bits.
It is almost complete.
The registration is from jan. 1969 and it came from Jersey.
Frame and engine prefix are B25B. Numbers are not matching both are approx 5500.

It looks like a 1968 model:
- single leading shoe brake;
- BSA type frontforks (not Triumph shuttle type);
- 1968 type chainguard mounting;
- no fairing lugs on headstock.

I always thought that they only were produced during 1969-1971.
Did the also manufacture during 1968?
And who can help with photo's and other info?
I am missing the seat. Did they left the factory with a single seat or dual seat?
And who used these bikes? Only police?
If anyone can help with a single seat and carrier....?

Well thats for now.

Thanks in advance.

Jacco

Jacco,You say the engine number is B25B,Are you sure the first letter on the engine is a "B" and not a "C",I could be wrong but in 1967 BSA produced the C25 Barracuda!

Hoi Paul and others,

I searched this site, but not very much info available.

Thanks for the photo. I have the same tank but its chromed with black panels.
The engine and frame numbers are B25B 55xx FS.

I still cant find any info who used these bikes and if single seat and a carrier were optional.

Maybe someone has period photo's?

Bedankt, Jacco

Hi Jacco, Here's a couple of photos of a B44VS I had a few years ago. Its fitted with a Fleetstar tank that has a Triumph parcel rack on it. I think it was an option for 1970 models only.The red paint looked original.
Cheers, Ken.[Linked Image][img]

Nice bike Ken.
I have the same tank but without parcel rack.
And mine is black with chrome.

I am still looking for a single seat and rear carrier.
Searching on eBay for a while but nothing found.
Who can help?

My tank is still without the transfers.
Who can give me advice about where to buy good quality items and fitting these on a chromed tank?

I also found out that a couple of years ago there was an article in Classic Bike about a police Fleetstar. Any info out there?
PS: I don't want to build my bike like a police bike.
My bike came from Jersey. I still have old paperwork. I have no idea who used them. Maybe readers from this board know more?

Bye, Jacco
