I am working my A$$ off right now trying to get ready for the July 10th Springfield Mile. We are coming with Two Complete Bikes (hopefully it will only take one) Ready to rock & Roll. I was wondering if any of you guy's are going to be there.

It's 11 days from leaving time and both motors are still on the bench. Needless to say I've got a few late nights ahead.

Hope to see some of you there.

Jeff

I'm planning on a bunch of AHRMA flat track racing this month. I'm going to Circleville and Bellfontaine, OH July 3 and 4th then to Springfield for the mile on the 10. Then back to Ohio to Ashland on the 15, Circleville on the 16th and 17th and then to Lancaster,OH on the 30 of July. Wow what a schedule. We just got our Sonic B25 done for the classic 250 and the Trump is running strong for the Classic 500. Another project that I started is a Sonic DBD34 Goldie. Hope to have it ready for next season. Just got the frame back from having it nickel plated, it looks great!

EG,

Where did you take your frame to have it plated? I have a Sonic frame for a BSA twin that's kinda rough. Most of the plating is gone, and I had thought of just painting it black, but it would be worthwhile to ask a plater his opinion first. I am in Indianapolis.

Thanks.

Sonic Twin we're neighbors, I'm practically in your back yard (Greenfield). I took it to Williamson Polishing & Plating 2080 Dr. Andrew J. Brown Ave. 317.925.5581. They do nice work. He only charged $450 and it turned out great. Are you a racer?

Thanks EG,

Yes, I'm a racer, but just new to flat track. Been roadracing for 10 years or so, mostly BSA's. I am slowly working on a Sonic framed A50 (with some really trick period equipment) and I'm collecting parts for a rigid framed Goldie, likewise as trick for the period as I can make it.

Good luck at Springfield.

Have you got a bike to flattrack with now? Are you going over to any of the AHRMA races in OHIO? We need to hook up.

Sounds like we are both building hardtail Goldies....Maybe we can become the Indiana wrecken crew (LOL). Theres also another guy in Elwood that flat tracks a BSA B44. Hmmmmm we are also all within a arms reach of each other too, good for support.

Well, I got the wreckin part!

I do have a stock framed BSA twin tracker right now. Unfortunately I need new tires, hubs and sprockets before I race it again. Last race was Kankakee(sp) Il. two years ago. Money's on the tight side so this year its going into the roadracer.

Do you know Jerry at Vintage Motorcycle Supply, in Sheridan. He has a dinosaur class Norton and lots of knowledge of old trackers. There is also a fellow, Dan, with a swingarm Goldie and 450 Ducati. All brakeless.

Would love to see the Springfield mile but is a long way from Houston. Having said that hope to be at Mid-Ohio if all goes well.

Sonic, I think that you may have said in another thread that you would be racing at Mid-Ohio road event. If so hope to meet-up with you.

Well We pretty well Sucked at Springfield.

We were a little lean in practice so I fed it a Cheeseburger when I should have gave it a sandwich! So we were a little fat in the Heat but still ran with the pack at half throttle!

Right before the main I noticed that the Swingarm was Broken!

We had the motor, Had the Jetting nailed for the Main But as usual the Gremlins.....

Good Luck
