40 miles on '57 Thunderbird

First 40 miles on my 57 Thunderbird since restoration. Restored in 2001 but only started for the first time about a month ago. Great to ride finally. Still chasing a few bits and pieces but it is almost complete. Here is a link to a few other pics.

Nice bike! I am really enjoying that color! Do you know the name of it by any chance?

The colour is Burnish Gold and has been matched as close as possible to the original by a bloke in Woodside South Australia who specialises in colour matching for Triumphs.

I hope to do a lot, lot more miles on it as soon as I can.
I wish I could take the credit for how it looks but I can't. All I did was get it running (still fine tuning that part), organize the paint job and chase up minor bits and pieces (which I have now finally done). The previous owner did all the restoration work (and did it well).

I had a custom '69 Trident years and years ago that came with a '57 Thunderbird tank - the Trident is long gone but I still have the tank. maybe one day I can get a bike to go with it!
gorgeous machine - I'm completely jealous.

Beautifull bike! IMHO the pre-unit Triumphs from that era were the most asthetically pleasing to look at of all the of the SA models! And that goes for the pre-unit BSA's of the same era!

I once owned a 1955 Speed Twin that was similar configuration except for color and other minor details.
