This is a great site, and its nice to see so many people out there have B50's, Mine is
raced every weekend in AMCA races (if the clutch lets me !). I would love to hear from
anyone with a B50 as I think the B50 is one of the best BSA's out.

I have - surplus to requirements one pair of bare ZB34.GS. crankcases Genuine original
Gold Star parts(early type). The engine number IS CURRENTLY IN USE on a machine in
U.K.,which had cases changed to later stronger type - the owner of that machine is using
the original engine number. Good clean condition but require minor repairs to sump plate
mounting holes .Worth £200 to £300 - for sale to anyone needing them for £150+cost of
shipping.P.S.these cases are not suitable for racing - better to use modified late B33.

I restored my 1967 A65L from several baskets and boxes found in an old warehouse in
Tampa. The only thing any good was the tank - what a beauty! After 2.5 years and several
dollars it is up and running like a scalded ape. I am looking forward to many years of
riding, and my next project, a Rocket three, if I can find one. Let me know if anyone
wants to see theirs in good hands.

At about the age of 13 my new brother-in-law and his brother had English bikes a BSA
Lightning and a Triumph Bonneville. Both of them were beatiful machines; thats when I
started a latent desire for a classic bike....I'm looking for a Lightning and all I can
remeber about that Lightning is that it had a cool small fender mounted rear seat, chrome
fenders, rear fender was cut short with a reverse curve end and the tank was chrome sided
with a red hilighted black. I don't think it was any newer than a '68. I don't think
there's a Harley, Honda or BMW around that can match the classic style, geometry or sound
of these bikes. Truly old school. How can I find and what can I expect to pay for a clean
specimen of this vintage somewhere in the Southwest US? Thanks, Pat Sanchez, Carlsbad, CA.

I also have a Jap bike (1984 Yamaha Viagra). It's a much better machine, the brakes
work, the electrics are dependable, and I have to check the oil level by looking at the
glass window instead of seeing if oil is running on the floor. It is completely without
personality and character. In short, it's boring. On the other hand there is my piece of

Always loved British bikes. Always wanted a Brit bike. Now I've got one of each: A '75
Norton Mark III; a '70 T120R and an A65L. Which one is my favorite? Depends on what I had
to drink the night before. I'll say this: nothing sounds as great as my A65L.

Have been looking for a Golden Flash like I had back in 1951. I was just 15 then and
had a love for English bikes. Unfortunately the Beezer I had then was totalled in an
accident. Other English bikes I had back then were an Ariel sq. four, a Triumph 650, a
Vincent Rapide. I still have a nice photo of myself sitting on the BSA when I was 15 and
shortly before I went on a trip to Canada with the bike. That was in 1952. I have a couple
of other photos of the guys I drove with, showing a Norton, BSA and a Matchless. Other
photos show me on my Whizzer...I blew that up when my friend back then suggested he file
the head down to increase the compression and use methenol as fuel! He clocked me at 39
MPH and then it exploded! Had so much fun then when things were simple...no
computers..less craziness. The last bike I had was in 1997...I succumbed to a Harley which
I had for a month and sold. When I find an old BSA I will get it and relive those days of
the past. Anyone interested in dropping me a note with an old story and link to a Golden
Flash..please do !

I currently do not have a BSA. Right now my ride is a 1977 CB750F2. I am looking for
another BSA for a project. British bikes are my passion but circumstances forced the
Honda. It's ok, but lacks the soul and personality of British iron. I also rode a 1957
Triumph at one time.

First I had problems getting a new clutch senter bolt, and when i finally managed that the
oil disappears and I got a soaking sound when I press the kick-starter. I dont know
excacly where the leaking is, but somewhere under and in between where I can't see. Can

This is my first bike and from what I been told, this one is a beast. Like anything
British, it requires tinkering and FAQ's will soon follow. With a Bonnie 750 already in
the family, the sibling rivalry promises to be somewhat spirited. I am looking foward to
comments and pointers from seasoned BSA owners in order to hold a leg up on my little
brother if not lend a helping hand as his bike breaks down roadside; obviously before the
BSA.

and just put it back on the road after a 10

that when hot and at idle (tick over) it will

right up again on first kick and idle fine again.
